Not sure if this has been discussed here already, but I just read the article on this:

Some Bollywood support is interesting, but I don't think it will have much of an impact. It would be interesting to read more on the specs of the media and players though.

interesting indeed, but I think its an altogether foolhardy quest to try to be a 3rd contender. If they truly have a process for many layers hammered out to perfection, then I think a much better choice for them would be simply licensing that IP to the other two formats

If the Studios go with another format I see consumers just going on an overload shutdown mode. Too many choices would result in people just being totally turned off I think. Who researches these things as much as the nuts here...almost no one !
