Im having a hard time deciding on which setup to go with. I currently have di-poles (300's) and floor standing speakers (450's) on order for my surround from av123. Im considering going with the bookshelf's in the back instead because i dont really have room to sit a floor standing speaker. Only problem with this is i really dont like having the huge speaker (rs250) hanging from ceiling or wall. Another option is to cancel the towers and go with dipoles only in the back. Im going to be about 70% movies and 30% music. Whats your guys opinion? I will be wiring for both situations so either way i will be ok if i change my mind. Just really a matter of what to keep ordered. If i decide to go with the dipole's only i do have a set of x-ls that i could use instead later on for rears. I will be treating the room acoustically so that might affect the performance of the di-poles a bit. My room is going to be right at 17ft to screen when finished so i will have little room to play with in the back.

Hopefull someone will correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the general recommendation for the surround back speakers is that they be direct radiating. Dipoles are good for the surrounds, but I thought direct was preferred for surround back. Anyway, just my two cents.

Thats what had orignially had planned for a 7.1 setup. Now im just having second thoughts on my setup. Just kind of worried that ill end up with some huge bookshelf speaker hanging from the wall and im trying to make it look clean and not thrown together.

Anyone got suggestions for my rear situation?
