I have recently upgrades my already upgraded Showstopper from 80 hours to 120 hours.
My first upgrade was from the 30 hour model to 80 hour using a WD 7200RPM 80Gig drive (purchased before I found out that the Showstopper doesn't really take advantage of the extra speed). Anyhow, I decided that the Showstopper was running pretty hot and I could use the 80 Gig someplace else. I purchased a Maxtor 5400RPM 120Gig drive from Fry's last weekend for $159. The patch went smoothly, althrough I did not copy the contents of the old drive because I used the large cluster patch. The memory went from around 240K/245K to 295/300K which is a nice improvement. My only real disappointment is that the Showstopper still seems to be quite warm, even though I put a 5400RPM drive and left out the EZ-Bake oven. I still think I can fry an egg on the unit if my stove stopped working, but perhaps in the near future I will put a fan inside.
I installed the 80Gig WD drive in my computer that is networked with my 4K. Rather then installing the drive directly in the unit (it's a 4080 which is still unopened, thus keeping the warantee intact). I am using SwapDV with the 80Gig drive in my computer to give my 4080 extra space while not losing those shows. Even though I have a wireless connection from my computer to the 4080, the shows stream just fine (I have only done low quality stuff so far, as I don't see the 11MBPS streaming high quality that well). The only strange thing I have seen is that the 4080 only sees 31 hours remaining at standard recording on my computer, even though I have only moved 1 hour worth of shows. I still have to play around with this some more and check the posts to see if there is some info.
Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to make great extras(such as SwapDV and the Windows 2000 RTV Patch) to make my Replays that much better, as well as everyone who has posted information to get the most out of the whole ReplayTV Experience.
