I currently have two new in the box antennas (both Channelmasters).

The ChannelMaster 3016 says it has a range of 40 miles VHF and 35 miles UHF. The other antenna I have is the StealthTenna that has the same ranges. The outside of the 3016 box shows that it'a a "blue range antenna" (medium directional), but the StealthTenna shows it to be a "green range antenna" (medium multi directional). According to antennaweb I need a "blue" antenna, but my question is whay is there a difference if both of them have the same range. Based on the answers I will try to install one or the other. Thanks for the help.

Those range estimates are usually overblown and unrealistic conditions - the color code range is more accurate. Be aware that those combo VHF/UHF antennas have a large VHF section and a relatively small UHF section. Since most digital/HD channels are on the UHF band you may do better with a cheaper UHF only higher gain antenna like the Channel Master model 4221 or 4228 - they have estimated ranges of 40miles and 60 miles respectively for UHF.
