Installed the CM 4221 on a 13 foot mast with rotor on Saturday. Connected the coax to ground block, ran ground wire to house electrical ground rod, and connected the other run of coax to go inside. (Also grounded the mast). I was getting gangbusters signals on all channels. Then, on Sunday, went back on the roof, disconnected the coax from both ends of the ground block (to reroute some tangles in the extra coax), reconnected them, and wrapped the block with electrical tape (to protect from moisture). When I checked my signals, they had been effectively reduced by 50%. Any thoughts on why? I plan to go back up there this afternoon to unwrap the tape, check the connections, and rewrap. Thanks.

Bad connectors?

Are they screw on or crimped?

Check for stray wires...

Went back up on the roof this afternoon, unwrapped the electrical tape, unscrewed the coax caps on both sides of the ground block (they seemed to be on OK), reconnected them, rewrapped, and presto! back to full signal strength. Go figure.
