I am installing an outdoor HDTV antenna and have a question. I have 3 TV's that have OTA but dont like leaving the antenna out. Could i route RG6 wire from the antenna in into a 3 way splitter (1 to each tv) and the main out going to the outside antenna? If all 3 tv's were on and using OTA would this effect picture quality?

Thanks,

Yes you can split the signal, no, turning one of the sets on won't effect the signal strength going to the others. You will lose some signal going through the splitter, if it's borderline you may consider a distribution amp in place of the splitter or a pre-amp in your set up to overcome it.

It depends on how much signal you start with.

I'm able to split my local channels (20 miles, line of sight) 4 ways, but not distant channels (next major metropolitan area ~75 miles).

Test different splitters also, I tried 3, some gave better results than others.
