Post 1. Because the page I wrote got lost because of 3 post anti spamming feature of this forum. Fortunately for me the same question was asked and answered in a thread that was created while I was going tropo over the waisted time and effort. I tried to post a picture of my problem. That was the problem...

Post 2:

I wanted to thank this forum for all the information I have acquired since my first lurk.

My second attempt was rather large and I didn't even think to save my post before submission. Unfortunately for me I had added a url pointing towards that Understanding video signal's thread. Bad move! eh?

I wonder how many people just give up and go elsewhere? This is the first forum I have seen that has this feature. It`s not good for productivity I must say.

So where was I?

Ah yes Thank you all for the information found on this forum.

It has been a lifesaver and might have even cost me a pj if I hadn't searched through the archives here.

Yes I am a semi newbie to the CRT world and have now my second unit. my first one decided to flame itself in an impressive way. Its final projection was a magnificent display of random scan lines that reminded me of the opening credits to the matrix with added smells of ozone and smoke. On phone inquiries to get it repaired were only met with manic laughter and the word "No". It was time to get a new unit. It was living on borrowed time. The guy who sold it to me did say "If it don't power up then give the PCB`s a wiggle then she should fire up" I didn't think he was talking in a literal sense. But the quality time spent with Barcovission2 was a great learning curve. Now I have a 1252 and setup seems too easy. Ah Baco I shall miss thee.

Anyway the sonys preforming well but I have to ask if anyone can link me to a thread or website which deals with how to build a hdpc? I have a fast computer with a ATI 9600XT 256 mb vid card 1 gig of dual channel DDR and 5.1 sound. Is it worth trying with the 1252?

One other question I have should be answered in the

Stevo, first of all, welcome to the pit. :)

Second, almost anything is worth trying.

Third, component is not the same as RGB, and no*. :(

Fourth, the "other" output is audio, as in DD and DTS.

Fifth, by now, you know HTML doesn't live here. :D

* Component video is a mathematic representation of the color mix levels, not a straight analog voltage of the three primary colors. You'll need either a transcoder or a scaler/line doubler(+) with component inputs and the RGB/HV outputs.

You can either insert an image:

or link to one.

Anyway, welcome once again! :p

I am sure glad I didn't plug that PCM/Stream into the s vid in on the pj to see what happens. or...

For sale:

1- 1252 projector (no lenses)

3- 700 lumen tubes (no phosphor)

3- HD 8-M Lens`s(Impact marks and cracks)

1- HT Screen (with central type Olympic motto imprinted)

Looks like I need to get a line doubler.

Thanks for your response Larry as I was sure I wouldn't get one after my first post debacle.
