I only have 40" between a light switch and a window frame to hang an LCD TV on the wall. With it being on the wall, the kids really need side (or bottom) jacks for their plug-n-play game consoles (they move them from room to room). I need an easy access headphone jack (no AV Receiver here) so I can listen without disturbing others, and also "must have" VGA input to use as a computer display. I also have a current need for 2 component inputs and one HDMI input, but I'd like the 2nd HDMI input for future expandability.


I figure a 37" to 40" set with 2 component, 2 HDMI, and VGA inputs and side (or bottom) jacks would fit the bill, but I haven't been able to find any with all those features. Does such a thing just not exist yet? So far the closest thing I've found to meeting the description is the 40" Sony Bravia S-Series that Costco is selling .


Isn't there anything out there that might better fit my needs? I sure wouldn't mind spending a little less than $1750 for something that's not even 1080p.

It's looking like some of the features I'd like to have are not available ala carte, so I'm now looking at 1080p units. Of course, once I move up into that price range I'm expecting a little more robustness, so I've put more items in my "wish list".


If I'm going to spend more than $2k on this thing, I want a second RF input so I can run my cable co's cable directly into the QAM tuner on one of them and the analog output of my Channel Plus 3125 that's modulating a couple audio/video sources over two unused channels. Next, I'm pretty sure IEEE-1394 and a CableCARD slot would be quite useful.


The closest seems to be the Mitsubishi LT-37132, but it isn't that easy to find and I think it has DVI input instead of VGA. Would I need just a simple adapter for that?


Any of you guys know of some other units that have this great a connectivity?

Have you considered the Sharp LC-C3742U? Sounds like it has all the inputs you need and has fairly impressive picture specs. From what I understand it comes at a very good price.

Edit: I had missunderstood the other thread. I guess it comes at a reasonable, but not amazing, price.
