I have about 50 feet left on my roll of linacoustic after finishing my theater project? Is there any sound isolation benefit to putting it inside the walls instead of or in addition to regular fiberglass insulation? I hate to just throw it away.

I would not waste it in a wall.

Wrap a dishwasher, put it on the back wall of a refrigerator cavity, wrap any noisy exposed ducts in the basement. Make some acoustical panels for other areas of the house. roll it up stick it in a corner and when your friends ask for help with their theater you can be the man with some wall panels.

Well, it can't really hurt in the wall. My understanding was that most of the increased isolation from insulating a wall cavity (and there isn't much) mainly had to do with just the damping pressure on the sheetrock from the fluffy stuff, something that the rigid fiberboard won't really do.

Bigmouth's suggestions are good ones, if you can't find a use for it or a good storage spot, or someone who wants it locally, it can't hurt to put it in a wall somewhere.

Or you know, you could always make a fort or something out of it.
