So is there any agreement on which side of the blackout fabric is better to use for a screen with an NEC LT150? Brightness isn't really an issue for me, but picture detail and contrast are. My impression is that the vinyl side might be better for detail, but the cloth side might be better for contrast. Anyone experiment with this? I've searched through the other threads, and haven't seen any real conclusions, other than that the vinyl side might be easier to clean, which doesn't concern me-- picture quality is my concern.

I remember reading that one chap folded his fabric in half (loosely, so as not to crease), and then ran his projector.


Can you do the same? That way you get to see an image on both sides of the cloth at the same time. You'll be able to make your own choice then.


Having said that, most people who've used blackout cloth seem to use the cloth side (me included).
