Yea, i know a cable is a cable

But, for upwards of 130$ for a DVI-D cable with a run of 5 meters i was wondering if there were any differences between the different manufacturers.

First off-I know Bettercables.com and monstercables have them. Who else makes them?

Secondly, any personal opinions on the manufacturers(any of em, not just these two)

finally, are there any review links you guys have seen?

Super finally-why are these cables so damn expensive?

in case it makes a difference-gonna use 9800pro to infocus 4805 using the DVI port (duh)

Yes. Some make normal cables at normal prices, and others make normal cables at exorbitant prices. DVI signals do not suffer from subtle visual degradation like analog signals. It will either work 100%, or it won't, and you will have very obvious artifacts on the screen (shimmering lines and pixels, or no image at all).

You shouldn't pay any more than $20 for a short run. Newegg has 6 and 10 foot cables for $13.99.

In the case of a really long run like 5 meters, you might want to look into a cable with thicker wires to help prevent signal degradation -- but that doesn't necessarily mean Monster Cable or the other ripoff brands.
