I've been thinking of switching to DirecTV so I can get HD-Net. Are there any DirecTV deals that will help subsidize the cost of an HDTV DirecTV receiver? I see the never ending "[non-HDTV] Satellite TV installed in 2 rooms for only $50" but I don't know about any HDTV deals.

Are there any such deals?

Damn, 154 viewings, not a single reply. I guess DirecTV isn't interested in attracting new HDTV viewers. It was difficult to find information on HDTV on the DirecTV site.

Call Them. I recently switched (3 or 4 months). I made a deal for the 2 promo receivers and sattelite install after I went out and found the best deal on a DST3000. DTV sent me at no extra charge the triple LNB sat dish with the built-in switch at no extra charge. They installled it all and the installer charged me an extra 50 bucks for the 3rd room.

I am very happy with the DST3000 and DirecTV.

BTW: The standard non-hdtv receivers are really nice with great menus also.
