Sorry if this has been asked alot, but are there any nonexpensive (under 300) DVD players that do that HD-upconvert thing and have HDMI out ?
im buying a new Sony KV-30HS420 and want to show off its excellence with a good dvd player for it around my price range that can take use of the HDMI and upconvert (since everyone seems to enjoy it)
There are 2 HDMI upconverting DVD players for $300 (a Sony coming out in Sept, and you can preorder the Samsung HD-941 at Amazon). You can also get $200 DVI upconverting players (such as Samsung HD-841 and Zenith).
Panasonic S97 should be out by the end of this month and MSRP is $299.
There are too many unanswered questions and hiccups right now in the DVD player arena. I'd wait for a few reviews by owners (owners that care about video quality and know what proper output is supposed to be) before investing any money in a new DVD player.
