Sure looks like an awesome piece!

Got a heck of a price tag on it though.

I have one in a client's home. It does what it says, sounds quite good to boot. Programming has been a bit more tedious than I would have liked. Locating the Rf antenna well is critical, and is not aided by any sort of signal strength indicator. Battery life is OK, not great. All in all, it was a hit, and we will be adding the product to our regular lineup.

Looks like a nice unit. I called Sony and they said the units are not daisy chainable yet, but they will be releasing a firmware update in January so you can connect a max of 2 together for 12 zones total. I however need 18 zones, so it wouldn't work for me, or I would have probably gone with it.

Rajeek,

Unless you need 18 different source selections for those zones, 2 units should do the trick. Each zone supports its own sub zone, with its own keypad and remote, a zone and sub share the same source with independant power and volume (well zone/subzone mute and shared volume to be more exact). The current 6 zone configuration easily fits 13 rooms, one directly from the HT receiver, 6 main zones, and 6 subs.

Hmm...very interesting. With the sub zones however, do they wire directly to the unit with a Cat5 or directly to the zone that it is subbing off of? Right now I have 18 cat5's going to the main equipment room to hook up to the main unit. Anyone know?

Each sub zone keypad is wired from its corresponding main zone keypad. The local mute is handled via a relay at speaker level w/in the keypad as well.

Damn, won't work for me then. They all need to be wired from the main unit. Looks like a Damn nice unit though.
