Guys, I am wondering if anything can be gained by using the DVI output on the Sony HD200 DirecTV HDTV receiver and using an adapter to go to the 15pin VGA on a 50" plasma?

The adapters are inexpensive and might be worth a try. Anyone done this yet? If so what were the results?

Right now I'm using VGA(15pin) to VGA (15pin) and it seems I get a better picture rather than using the component video inputs

Thanks..

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks..

I don't think this will work because the DVI output is (I think ) DVI-D so it does not have the analog signal in it

and let's assume it does have the analog signal on it- that would be the same as what you get from the VGA connector

so there would be no advantage to this
