Hi

I have a 4 year old set, Sony 55EX500 CCFL LCD. Excellent TV however with my PS4 I would like to buy a 65" LED TV. Now, the problem is I hate the auto CE dimming. Are there any TV that don't have it or you can turn it off in user menu? If yes, please, what is the Brand and model number.

PS: the set must also have a good input lag for gaming.

Thanks

thanks for your reply, call it CE dimming or auto dimming I can see people complain about it in Samsung, LG, Sony threads.

I just test it the Sony KDL55W802A using Spears & Munsil and you can see it as the picture dims very dark. My EX500 does not do that. I was looking at the Samsung UN60F6300 but even there people complain about the dimming in game mode.

It is a Ambient light sensor. It can automatically adjust the screen brightness and contrast based on the lighting of your room. Often it can be turned off, in fact one of the first things you should do when you've got a new TV in tha house is turn off that sensor..

The Ambient Sensor can be turned off on the 55X500

Thanks again for your reply. I know about the light sensor, Eco etc. the one I don't want is the auto dimming. Your link below helps, according to owners you can disable the auto dimming in Movie mode without going to service menu. For game mode you can set it as PC and supposed to be just as fast in gaming as the game mode.

Thanks again for the link
