I have some A/V stuff that is just taking up space in a closet. Among the gear is a Pioneer VSX-D1S, and before I post it for sale on Ebay or something, I was wondering if there's still a market for this type of gear? How much is it worth? It's not Dolby Digital, or 5.1 or the like, but if memory serves, it does do Pro Logic. I know it's archaic, but it might still be worth something to somebody out there.
Steve.

The problem you will have is the fact it's ProLogic. I would imagine someone would use it to power bass shakers or center surround. Your best bet would be local want ad or try www.hometheaterforum.com and this forum's classifieds. Also, www.audioreview.com has a classified area. All of the above are free. Start there and then try local sales.
I have been looking for a high quality pro-logic, DD upgradable reciever. I have a Sony DVD with a DD decoder. I have been searching forever for a sony one but how is the pioneer? My main concern is esthetics cuz it would be given as a gift to someone. How much?
Evan, it's in excellent condition. I'll try to take a couple photos of it tonight. I routinely see these receivers going for $500, so that is my asking price.
A friend of mine had one of these. It doesn´t have 5.1 input exactly but it does have pre-out and amp-in and it does have 5 separate amps so it is no problem using it with an external DD/DTS decoder. I had a similar model (Pio VSX-9900) and used it with a Millennium 2.4.6 DTS decoder and it worked great.
Evan, my apologies for not getting any photos as of yet. We have been very busy at work with a huge A/V installation and all I have time to do when I get home is shower, maybe eat a bite of dinner and crash. I'll try to get some up this weekend.
