So any idea when Infocus will have a budget PJ like IN72 but for 720 or 1080

I am still using my IN72. It has some 3100 hrs!! (touch wood). It is coffee table mounted and some 4 feet away and all I hear is a light air moving sound. My image is very small so even after 3000 hrs I am using ND2 filter and I just cant watch the Olympics without a sunglass i.e it is still so bright.

Also no filters and no dust blobs.

That is the kind of reliability I am looking for. I have considered Optoma HD65 and Mits 3800 but they are a lot louder as per the reviews. My best bet now is the Epson 8100 as it has low audible noise.

I wonder why Infocus is not coming up with something like IN72.

All I need is a IN72 with a 720p chip inside and it would be worth $999

Can not answer your question, but if you should happen to find a Mitsubishi HC3000 or HC3000u (same thing) for under $700 with low hours, grab it! That was my upgrade path from the IN72 and it was the best purchase in years! Same setup as you with the unit about 3-4' in front, and can not hear it at all on eco mode. With a small screen 720p is great! The optics are excellent and mine has over 3000 hours on it. I did replace the lamp with OEM lamp when I purchased it for $175. I consider myself very lucky and a good haggler! (purchase on Craig's list)

Good luck!
