I know the HK has tons of issues but I love the onscreen display and it made setting it up pretty easy for me. I have been without an AVR since I sent the HK back and I am ready to pull the plug again.

I also like the H/K's onscreen U.I.! I'm not aware of any other brands that have that same interface. Some of the models from Yamaha (RX-V3900 and up) and Integra/Onkyo have fairly easy to use U.I.'s.

Your best bet is to download the Owners Guides for prospective models and review for yourself.

My Denon 4308ci has an onscreen display that overlays over the video when brought up.

The new Denon 2310, 3310, and 4310 have a GUI that overlays the HDMI video as well. I wouldn't say it's a great looking or fantastically designed GUI, but it's functional. The main advantage is that you can view and tweak the settings without interrupting the video as you do with other GUIs, and even if Denon's GUI isn't great, it's far easier than trying to do it on the unit's 2 line display.
