I have read and heard some things that lead me to believe TC Sounds aka Audiopulse may be coming back. One thing that I did hear was that parts express may have some audiopulse LMS drivers back in stock sometime in the near future.

If Parts Express is able to replenish there stock of Audiopulse LMS drivers then were would they be getting them from?

There were a couple of other things I have heard that make me think TC sounds may be on there way back but thought maybe someone here knows something.

I myself would be more than happy to buy some LMS 18"s which I missed out on when TC Sounds closed there doors.

I don't know if what I heard was just rumor but if it helps to bring them back then so be it

I spoke with Mr. Thilo and it may be a reality you will see the AudioPulse line ~april 2009(maybe before maybe after). I say may be as nothing is guaranteed in this lousy economy.

You know as I do that they made some of the best drivers for both SQ and looks. With proper management in place they should be able to make a comeback if not this year then maybe next when the economy begins to see some recovery.

I did pick up some AP Axis 12's and boy do those little suckers pound in a 15" cube. I am pumping a QSC PLX2502 into it so it should scream but that little bastard can take it.

I just want 1 LMS 18" and I will be happy. I knew I should have jumped on it when I had the chance

I think they would do a lot better with lower prices....

I would like to see them go back to the TC Sound prices as well. $385 for a 15" TC-3000 is a lot easier to take then $700 for the comparable Audiopulse Axis.

I did get a pair of the AP 12" Axis when they were on sale for $300. Really nice little drivers.

Kyle's quote of $1600 MSRP for an '09 LMS 18" is a little hard to swallow without some kind of sale/discount, but I understand they can't have a repeat of TC Sounds business model.

I wonder why they can't repeat the TC Sounds business model? Is it because the mfg's who use there OEM drivers got upset?

I thought that them going away from selling TC Sounds directly to us bass nuts is what led to there downfall. It was shortly after that move that they went away.

Even though I can afford it I am not going to spend $1,600 for a driver, half that price maybe, the original TC Sounds price of about $650ish then definitely yes.

There are a lot of great drivers out there but with TC you got the great frames, menacing tall surrounds and magnet structures that make you want to fling them and destroy you enemies. Once your enemies hear the TC they would probably want to destroy themselves anyway out of jealousy

Depends on how much of it was not enough margin and how much was just sucking at running a business.

I suspect the latter; the Acoupower 18's were about $900 and every major part was custom, so I expect the material cost was much higher on those than an LMS.

Judging by the feast-or-famine nature of TC driver availability, my hunch is that their "business model" was basically to sell drivers cheaply to DIYers when they needed to in order to keep themselves on the right side of the edge of insolvency.

Could be a little bit of both, Noah. More importantly to the consumer (me, you, whoever) The prospect of being able to once again purchase a proven, low distortion, high displacment driver is going to be good news. I wanted 4 18's in the grand scheme of things, now I'm "stuck" with only 2 Acoupower 18s, leaving only the MX as the best alternative. I like options. $1000 a driver is about my limit before i question my sanity. I certainly hope we can see more independant driver tests this spring to ease purchasing decisions.

Sorry I'm rambling...

i think TC should build finished subwoofers similar to sunfire ones

i think they also know this. they had one but it was using Crown rackmount amplifiers.

they just need to come up with a 5 kilowatt plate amp somehow ...

i know this is easier said than done but if they could come up with a line of plate amps that matched the performance needs of their drivers i think they would be unstoppable.

powersoft says they can get something like 9 kilowatts of music power from a 120V outlet. LMS driver recommends 5 kilowatts of power. yet the biggest plate amps i seen are 1 kilowatt. to me it is clear that this is what needs to change.

TC cant depend on some stupid companies to want their drivers. What OEM would want to pay more than 50 bucks for a driver ? they need to build their own finished sub and sell them direct to consumer.

at the same time they should also sell the plate amps separately and the drivers separately also direct to consumer. and all products should be under audiopulse brand.

oh yeah. and they need to throw all of their designs in the trash and just clone JBL's 2269 woofer ( with a modification to voice coil winding density ) ...

basically they need to take JBL 2269 woofer, add LMS technology to it, take Powersoft amplifier, and stuff it all into a 20" cube box with sexy finish. and the need to sell the finished thing for about $3,000.

I just recently bought a TC Sounds "TCSub" (anybody know anything about it??) for 10.00 from a fella in a downsizing video production facility (near where TS Sounds used to be I found out later in my many searches for info). He said The owner of the company built it for him himself. It didn't mean squat to me at the time because I knew zilch about him or his speakers. I bought it knowing it was non working, for ten bucks I didn't really care. It was reported to have the guts of an ADCOM GFA-555 in it. I figured I could use the spare parts. When I picked up the sub, which wasn't that big I thought I was going to pop a kidney out. Crap that thing was heavy. Then I got it home and saw the speaker inside. It was obvious it was not a "normal" speaker. I have never seen so many adjustments on a plate amp either. I will take some pics tomorrow. I would love to finf some info on this cube I bought. I can't wait to get this thing working again.
