Any problems plugging my amp into a surge protector?

302 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Steve Ruddy
I have a Panamaxx Maxx 5500 AcCRegenerator. It is rated at 15 amps. I have all my equipment plugged onto it and with everything on it shows about a 7 amp draw. This fluctuates especially when giving more volume however it never seems to go much over 8 amps. Am I in anyway interfering with my sound quality by having the Acurus 125x5 amp plugged into this instead of directly into the wall.

IIRC, the 5500 has a high-power outlet that avoids all inductors and the power limitation of the isolation/balance transformer for use with power amps. That should be OK.

They did recommend to me that I use a MAX4400-20A for the power amp and plasma leaving the 5510 to handle all the rest of my components.
