I have a Panasonic TH-42PX60U TV and a Motorola DCT 6416 III HD DVR/STB. I am currently using an HDMI cable from walmart ($35) to hook them up. Is there any reason that I shouldnt return the cable and get one from monoprice.com for $5.84? The one on monoprice is 28 gauge. Here is the link

You ether have loss or you don't when using digial signals. HDMI works or it doesn't so getting a cheap cable is fine, short of you having some sort of huge interference source near the cable or a defective cable there should be no Image Quality difference between brands under normal conditions.

Analog cables like component, need to of a reasonable quality to ensure they deliver a good signal, not to say that there aren't good cheap Analog cables as well.
