I 'm close to buying a Toshiba 62hmx84 for $3395. Seems like a lot of tv for the money. PQ looked great at the store. I've been waiting for samsung 74 series but will spending another $1500 make any sense?

One of the advantage of HMX model over the HM is more HDMI ports. I suggest you request the store to try out some DVI/HDMI inputs before you buy the TV. Quite a few users have HDMI input problem with the HM model. Gray side bars with SD TV is also an annoying problem.
