Any special treatment for wall mounted speakers?

I imagine that wall mounted speakers will have a tendency to transfer sound through the wall since they are directly mounted. I'm going to have a couple of surround speakers mounted on a staggered studded wall - double drywalled (w/ GG) on both sides w/ insulation between. Any thoughts on how to minimize vibration? I'm thinking that putting a layer of MDF (using GG) on the rear of the speaker might be in order, any thoughts? Of course if the speakers are rear ported, that wouldn't be good (mine aren't). Maybe something like neoprene bumpers would be in order. If the speakers were rear ported, I think a shelf mount would be in order.

Can you elaborate on the rear ported issue? I'm actually going to be doing to be doing the same thing, likely...
