I bought a d56w20 RCA today and and can not put my VCR or DirecTV box on top. I have no room to put any kind of stand.....so if you can not help me I will have to send it back [I am crying at this point] I am so stupid for not thinking of no space for any stand..so excited I guess Thanks

Use your head, man ...:)

Ok, jokes aside, did you consider getting one of those wall mounts (perhaps those that are designed for smaller TVs)? You could mount one behind the TV set and place your STB on it.

Honestly, STB placement is not so important - you can put it anywhere around the TV. What I would be concerned about is properly placing a center channel speaker if you have one.

If youre resourceful, you can attach pretty much anything to these DLP and LCD sets, so long as you dont block airflow. Its just a big plastic shell around some very small electronic componentry, so if it isnt so heavy the whole thing will topple over, you could probably make something with a flange to "grab" the top of edge of the set (if it isnt razor thin like some of the Sammys) and some sort of stability to follow the rear angle behind the screen. Sony had a solution somewhat like this years ago to put VCRs and stuff on top of their RPTV's

Sanus makes a shelf that goes on top of the tv that some in this forum have used. Do a search in this forum or go to the sanus website to see if it will work for your set.

Also, you can go to Racks and Stands website. They have some wallmount stands for av components made by Peerless.
