Any working PC -> GWIV HDMI connections?

222 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Jon7athan
Has anyone been able to get their GWIV to sync with a PC at anything other than 640x480 or 1280x720 via the HDMI input? I've tried everything I can think of in Powerstrip, including the GWIII settings, and nothing works. 1280x720 is overscanned pretty bad.

I have a working theory that this TV will not accept anything over HDMI that isn't recognized as 480P, 720P or 1080i. I'm not a hundred percent, and if this is true I think it's REALLY stupid of Sony considering their TVs are native at 788P, but it seems that way.

I haven't tried any HTPC on this set yet, but I'd like to. I do have a Momitsu 880dx, though, with customizable up-conversion. Over DVI it'll recognize the afore mentioned 480, 720 and 1080 resolutions, but not 768P (which is one of the set, standards for the player and recognized on many other TV's). Also, one of the Forum's members PMd me with his custom settings for outputting 788P, which he says work for his Momitsu/GWIII setup and look stunning. I tried them out on my Momitsu/55WF655 setup and nothing but a blank screen until I cycled through to 480P.

So, hope I'm wrong, but it seems like this might be the case. Good luck and keep us posted.
mklaessy,

I think I agree with your theory. Using DVI ouput from my Iscan HD, I can't get anything but 480p, 720p, & 1080i. I have a breakout cable on order from Ram electronics because I want to use the component inputs on the set. Do you have a customizable component output profile for your Momitsu?

Thanks,

P.S. could you PM me the settings for 788p. The output setup on the Iscan is highly customizable and your settings might give me a guide for configuring it.
