Has anybody heard from an online store called Elite PLasma?? |
I have heard of, but never from the on-line store: Elite Plasma. A couple of months ago when I first became serious about making an Internet purchase of a PDP, I discovered Elite Plasma through an eBay auction for the Optoma PD50. Elite Plasma offered a very competitive price for this item but every time I called their number I got a voice message and have never received a return call back for messages I left.
I have ruled out purchasing a PD50 and doing business with any seller on eBay. When I do make a purchase it will be a "name brand" unit from either: Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, etc...
If you are serious regarding making this type of purchase through the Internet I recommend whoever you purchase from is an authorized dealer for the product and is endorsed by sources like: This Forum (AV Science Forum), cnet.com, etc...
There is a lot of chatter in this forum from some very knowledgeable individuals. They have a lot of real life experience using the Internet to acquire their Plasma screens. For example, visualapex seems to be highly regarded as an authorized distributor of Panasonic displays. For the extra ~$200 - $300 it may cost, purchasing from a Forum sponsored source will probably add a higher level of confidence the transaction will be handled properly.
I've done a lot of Internet shopping, bill paying, vacation arrangements, etc... during the past three years and have never had a problem because I've taken the time to know the company I'm dealing with.
Since no one seems to know much about Elite Plasma, unless you get some more information I recommend you steer clear. (just my 2 cents)
