I just got the Denon 1600 from Crutchfield and I've got it hooked up to my old TV for the time being. I've got the Panny coming to me in about a week and I was curious if anybody here has the same setup. If so, what kind of performance do you get? And for those of you who don't have this setup, what sort of performance do you think I'll get out of this rig? Thanks in advance.

Unless you have a newer digital/HD TV and use progressive scan mode, you probably won't notice much difference. Its the de-interlacer (used only in progressive mode) thats the big thing on he Denon DVD-1600. In interlaced mode to an analog TV it will perform like a regular good quality old interlaced DVD player.

I would wait for a better DVI DVD player. Not that I don't like Denon 1600. But to get the best out of the Panny, a DVI DVD player which can scale the DVD to 720p is the best.
