hello all,

is anybody using the McIntosh MX132 A/V Tuner Control Center as the core for their home theater setup? here is a link to specs: http://www.audioclassics.com/detail.php3?detail=MX132

Speakers are Aerial 10T, CC3 and SR3.

Power is Aragon 8008ST, Acurus A200x3 and Acurus A125x5.

thanks in advance,

I have been using the MX132 for about 18 months now. It has very good build quality and excellent sound. I can regiment it if you do not care about the following:

1. It cannot be upgraded for new audio formats.

2. There is no component/HD video switching.

3. There is no turntable preamp.

4. It does not do a good job of automatically distinguishing digital/analog audio inputs. (specifically on my 4dtv receiver).

I have used Mac equipment for over 25 years and love it. However, my next processor probably will not be a Mac. Technology is changing too fast for me to invest this kind of money without any regard for upgradeability. There are many very fine processors in this price range such as Tag/Mclaren which has an excellent upgrade policy. You should check them out as well.

Hope this helps.
