Anyone around the Jersey Shore have an Audyssey mic I can borrow?

Hi! Onkyo tx-sr608, it uses the MIC-7000.

Not sure what mic that is? I have a Denon 4311, I'm not so sure they're compatible

Well, if you find that the Denon mic would be compatible, pm me and I'd be glad to let you borrow it.


Just so you know, using the incorrect mic will mess up the calibration.

Where did you get "MIC-7000" from? AFAIK, all Onkyo AVRs for the past 3 years, to include the SR708, use the Audyssey ACM1h mic which would be compatible with Gooddoc's DM-A409 mic. Both mics can be found on eBay from time to time for about $30.

Great! Nice price too. That's likely Onkyo's internal part number rather than Audyssey's part #.

Yes, I got a good laugh out of that too, because at first I went to eBay in search of the remote and mic for my AVR and saw they were charging about $30 each for both (not including shipping), went to Onkyo's store and they have both totaled at $43.48 shipped to my door! lol

FYI ... the reason your temp mic worked for distance and crossover is that the Onkyo sets those not Audyssey so the Audyssey filters weren't involved. The reason Audyssey sounded "off" was the mic wasn't calibrated for your AVR as the MIC-7000 will be.

Technology is awesome I swear

I wasn't expecting a great outcome since it's just a run of the mill stereo lav mic, but pretty cool you can at least get somewhere with one.
