What sucks is that Wolfman was being screened right next to Valentine's Day, but I haven't got my press pass from them yet. I would've much rather screened Wolfman over VD

there is no way they could ever make enough money to pay off all the actors/actresses in this film. Julia Roberts, Anne Hatheway, Kathy Bates, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, Bradley Cooper, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, George Lopez, Emma Roberts, Jessica Alba, Shirley MacClaine, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey. They better hope a lot of 40 year old single ladies plan on seeing this just to break even with the casts payday.

Actually Poksey, the screening was filled with many teenage girls, and they seemed to love it. I think that Warner is hoping to land a large demographic of the younger audience. It's really smart marketing; a movie called Valentine's Day being released on Valentine's day weekend, filled with half of Hollywood's stars. The shows are already selling out at my local theater. It will have a big opening weekend, probably around $35-$45 million and then start to drop rapidly. That's what I think at least.

I suspect a lot of those actors aren't getting paid, or if they are, they aren't taking too much. They will do that at times just to be in a certain picture, or they just want to be a part of something that looks like fun or a project they believe in. Sometimes actors will make a cameo appearance and not show up in the credits.

I may rent it for the wife next Valentine's Day. There are a lot of good-looking women in it to make the experience bearable.

Very true. Considering how much screen time most of the actors had, I can't imagine any of them receiving any substantial payday. Julia Roberts for example, had no more than 10 mins on screen.

My wife has been getting big eyes every time a commercial for it comes on tv, or anytime a star has been on Letterman or another show like The View or Oprah promoting it, so it looks like I will be dragged to it.

However, she has agreed to let me drag her to Shutter Island.

She said she didn't want to see The Wolfman, so I countered that I won't see Valentine's Day. We agreed not to see anything and I make dinner. *sigh*

There was an article in the LA Times on the movie and Garry Marshall, the director. Seems the actors worked for cheap or much below their typical rates. The reasons given were that Garry Marshall pulled in some favors and that once Julia Roberts signed on the rest jumped abourd pretty easily.

I prefer Yankeeman's situation to Malcom_B's.

Oh, I'll be seeing Shutter Island, because even my wife knows nothing will keep me from seeing a new Martin Scorsese movie.

Are there any other romantic movies out this weekend? I really don't want to see this one, but my wife seems interested in it because they showed George Lopez in the commercial and she loves him.

Coming out, no. But there are others in theaters such as Dear John, When in Rome, Leap Year, It's Complicated... I'm not sure if there are others.

My wife is interested, so I'll probably be going this weekend. Doing something solely to please the wife, oh the horror

Look, a judge of others with no grout.

Not to mention, how is a bad movie, regardless of topic, a good choice for V-Day for your significant other?

That went over my head.

My wife and I have the good sense not to let others decide what movie we should like.

My daughter and her boy friend went last night. She said she liked it. I haven't asked him yet, I'm guessing it wouldn't make his top 10 list. I guess one of the reasons I like him is he's comfortable enough with his masculinity to take his girl friend to a chick flick. She sat through the Duke Maryland basketball game today. Funny how good relationships work.
