Im looking for a pool table light that looks nice but doesent blow my budget. Its seems like everything I have found is overpriced. Thinking I should build my own lights anyways if you guys know of a deal let me know or if you have made your own lights. This is what ive been looking at but they want $400

It depends though, how does you room look like?


I wouldn't mind building one myself,

but if it's too difficult to match its quality and design.

$400 should worth your taste and values for times.

We actually, searched the home improvement stores and found a light we liked and it looks good. We got it at home depot or lowes and was around $125.

The best light we had for our pool table was a commercial grade correct length dual tube fluorescent which when hung properly only illuminated the table with no shadows and no light past the rails.


This particular one was branded for Coors Lite and I recall I bought it at a pawn shop for $50.00. I think I still have three or four including this one somewhere in our garage attic as we sold the table a while back.


BTW - I found the best deals on sticks also at pawn shops and even though we sold our table a few years ago (YIKES, tables take up SO MUCH space and very few people actually know how to really play pool - a row of pinball game is so much more fun in a home game room - IMO) I still have a few Joss and Meucci, McDermott and, I think, one or two Huebler "sneaky Petes".


Don't know what to do with them but they look nice on the game room wall and I don't think I paid more than $75 for any one of them - some came with multiple shafts.


Pawn Shops, my man!! Get to be friends with a few shop owners and with patience most anything you want will come your way at a very good price!

check out lighting showrooms that are getting rid of discontinued models. You can get a screaming deal that way

like one of the guys above mentioned, check lowes/home depot. they have some for $100ish that look nice. they are marketed as lights for your kitchen island and that type of thing, but they look like pool table lights to me

If you know any bar owners you can probably get one with a beer on it. They get one from a vendor pretty easy. I know my dad was able to get a budweiser one from someone that ran a golf course clubhouse.
