I am looking for a HDTV that supports 720p, and so far I have only found 2, PERIOD! (wtf huh?) (Sampo and the Loewe)
http://formen.ign.com/news/30236.html

This is the TV I am seriously considering, but I am having trouble location one, and pronouncing it too, lol. Even though this TV isn't a flat screen, all the reviews I have read say it doesn't make one bit of a difference. Anyone have a link?

Sorry bro, I live in the US, NOT Europe. If you would have even paid any attention to the searches, you would have seen that they all were in the UK.

p.s. Thanks for looking though.

X Box is the yet to be released Microsoft gaming platform that is touted to also support HDTV.

LOL on the Death Star comment. Thanks Tim. I didn't find any dealers near my house, but I did find some near my old address in Houston. I need to try the St. Loius area.

Also make sure you are looking at the 38" model (released yet?) vs. the 30" model which is released.

American Audio in Greenville, SC now carries the Loewes TVs. We just recieved the 30" model on Friday. Nice picture. I work on our Custom installation department and our lead designer used to rep the Loewe TVs.

I bought my 30" Aconda from San Francisco Stereo.

But you must not be talking about that model, because the 30" Loewe Aconda has a flat screen.

If you're looking for the 38", I think that one's vaporware for now in the U.S.

Anyone who wants to buy any Loewe TV must make sure

it is HDTV. The one's that out in Europe are not HDTV!

There is no HDTV in Europe and won't be for a long time.

FYI the 38inch Loewe is based on the RCA/Proscan 38 inch tube which is of course not flat. Also check the price difference $4500(Loewe) vs $2600 (RCA) . You might want to consider the RCA plus an ISCAN/DVDO. Just a thought...

The Aconda doesn't display 720p signals in their native resolution; rather it upconverts them to 1080i.

Can't help you in locating one since I'm unfamiliar with the dealers in Death Star. Try the Death Star BBB - ask for Darth, they say he's very helpful.

"Loewe" rhymes with "Goethe," but that's no help if you don't know how to pronounce his name correctly. The "oe" in Loewe is an alternative spelling of the German "o" with an umlaut. The closest English phonetic spelling would be "lur-vah." While saying the "lur" part purse your lips together slightly, don't actually pronounce the "r," and hope there are no native German speakers nearby or you'll be rounded up and deported if you say it wrong.

Broadway Music in Salt Lake City has them, or can get them.
