I want to use Dazian Celtic cloth for my screen so I can put my speakers behind it. Went to Loews to check out wood for the frame, looked at poplar, pine etc, but despaired of finding anything perfectly straight.


New idea came up while talking to co-worker about it--make the frame out of thick Gatorboard. Advantages-can get it cut straight, and it's light. Disadvantages???


Any thoughts....

I have used it in past and it works very well. The picture for a DIY screen was great. The only reason I changed it out was for a screen that I painted on my wall with a frame around it.


After I did all that work I feel that I should have stayed with the Gator board.


I cut my Gator board to size then put a boarder of 2" black duct tape around and hung it up using a 2X4X4ft mounted to the wall with 2" velcro on the board and screen. This resulted in a removable screen if so desired.
