Anyone modiefied the Panasonic DMR-HS2 remote?

There's nothing wrong with the HS2 remote except that you have to point it precisely to the HS2 for it to respond e.g. the angle is very narrow


That's because the infra-red LED is sunk to much into the housing of the remote so the light-beam is very small.


Does anybody attempted to open the remote case?

The four screws are not the problem but after removing them opening the case is...


Any tips appreciated.
