Anyone not use the ARO on their Fathoms?

Just unleash them, and compare the sound, to the ARO the sound?

The ARO is almost like a muffler. It takes the edge off...

are you saying you like yours without ARO?

Have not tried it yet longer then 2 minutes

But plan to in the future.

Those 2 minutes seemed alive a little more, but maybe not...

I tried it both in and out of my system. I ended up leaving it activated. My room is treated. If you can spend some time in the room and go through some movies and music. It optimizes for the prime listening spot.

I was not using ARO on my F112, but I just ran it, and got some decent results. Here's the REW graph:

Blue is no EQ

Gold is ARO

You can see the hump from 40-50hz was brought down. This definitely sounds more accurate to me with music. Although if I want that little extra oopmh, I may turn ARO off. The big dip around 57hz is caused by the room. The red graph was obtained by simply moving the mic 2 feet to the right side of the couch.

ARO, works really well. A lot depends on your room. If you listen to demo material with a special effect centered around the same frequency as a peak in your room, once you cut down that peak, it will not sound as exciting, even though it is technically more correct. The best thing to do is to take some measurements for you room, before and after ARO, to see exactly what it did to your frequency response.
