Anyone purchased a "B" stock UH380 or FE1500M

What was the condition, what made it "B" stock?

An associated question... My throw will be 13ft with a throw ratio of 1.9 for a 44" high CIH. Will I have any problems?

Thanks

Mine has a blemish in the front glass. If I had bought it new it would have gone back. Truth is on a 130 inch wide BOC screen knowing where to look I can not find any artifact in the projected image.

Delivery was prompt, preceded by tracking info by email without me asking. Very satisfied. Like watching Santa on the radar. Wish I had the motorized sled, awkward reach where it is mounted.

Looking forward to my 130x55.3 SMX screen arriving so I can start getting some of the setup finalized.

Actually a throw ratio of 1.99, pincushion of a little over 1% of screen height... no, should be no problems.
Received my UH380 this morning (at work). I'm in the UK so it took a few days by UPS.

I was expecting some marks on the casing, but I'm disappointed that the case is perfect and instead I have two small scratches on the inside of the rear prism.

Both Jason and Marc have stated that these are optically perfect, so the proof will be tonight when I try the lens with my PJ. Will report back. I just hope I can't see the scratches.
Yikes, Scratches on the lens surface scares me.

I just ordered one.
I ordered one this morning. I can't say anything about scratches on these lenses but from my years of large format photography experience I can tell you that minor marks on those lenses never affected image quality. At this price I'll take my chances.

i bought a b stock FE1500 remote control and it was perfect
My experience of lenses is specific to binoculars and rifle scopes. I have scratches which are numerous and some quite deep, on various lenses. A couple are deep enough to feel with a fingernail.

All of them are on the outside of the lense and are clearly visible when I'm looking at them in order to clean them.

In use, it's a different story. None are visible as they are not in the same focal plane.

Hope this helps those who are suffering

Had a quick play last night, but wasn't able to mount the lens properly (needed to get some bits) to evaluate properly.

Anyway, lens is up tonight and I'm VERY pleased to say that no matter how hard I look I cannot see the scratches on the projected image.

I am amazed at how sharp and uniform the focus is. Very impressive. Big difference between zooming (as I have been doing for the last 18 months or so) and using the lens. The lens will certainly ensure I get some more months out of my 720p PJ and has reduced the desire to upgrade to a 1080p PJ in the near future.

After initial set up, I have some curve at the edges, but this was expected as my throw distance is below the UH380's spec minimum and my PJ is at ceiling height which does not put the center of the PJ lens central to the screen. I can happily lose the the curve in the masked border, but think I can get this better with some tweaking. Will leave as is for know until I get my sled made this weekend.

Still can't get over how big and heavy the UH380 is. I wasn't prepared for that!

To summarise I am very happy with the purchase (don't think my wife will be when she sees it though!).

Thanks to Jason and Marc for all their help.

Thank you Rob!

Yeah, the UH380 is quite hefty - lots of glass in there.

I'm glad you are enjoying it - hopefully your wife will come around once she sees a movie with it.

I called and talked to Richard Wednesday morning to place my order and received friendly prompt courteous service.

The lens arrived today. All I can say is Wow. This it the best deal I've found in years. I wanted to put it to use so I didn't examine it to close to try and determine why it's "B" stock, but nothing jumped out at me. The only think I noticed was a couple of very small marks in the inside lens.

Like what's already been said you can not see them on the projected image.

Anyone that has been wanting one of these lenses I highly recommend grabbing one at this price while they are available.

Thanks Richard and crew!

Glad you love it Jim. Pictures are awesome.

Just got my "B" stock M380. Looks awesome. The only think I can see wrong is some slight marks on the inner side of the case. Looks like some dry glue or something. Very minor. Lens looks perfect to my eyes, but I haven't tried it yet.

Are these B stock units available through Panamorph? AVS? Are they still available?
Jason had a sticky on top of the forum advertising these B-Stock lenses. The sticky is no longer there, so, I assume they are now gone
.

Too bad as I waited too long to jump myself. I am hoping that the deal will return.
