With the HTPC as the heart of the HT, it makes sense to try using a PC-based parametric equalizer to manage bass and provided for room correction, as least for CDs , WAVs, or MP3s played through the sound card. By doing this in the computer you theoretically would avoid having to do it in the analog domain or by subjecting the signal to another set of A/D and D/A conversions. Has anyone tried this? Would there be a degradation in sound quality (bit-shaving)? What equalizer apps would work for this?

Thanks,

Ken
