I found a local distributor for the sheets of acrylic, but was wondering if

anyone else has tried it,and what sort of results they got.I'm currently

using cineflex 76" X 132".

I just thought it would save me the $500 for the 4'X8' sample.

Expensive experiment if it doesn't prove to be better.

Some sample.

Based on the dozens of RP samples I have, it'd be a real discovery to get more than $500 worth of (total system) performance for $500.

I concluded that you could get a screen with good light rejection for a good price, or a screen with good light efficiency for a moderate price, but to get both it's always a high price.

O.K. I got a smaller sample about 18" X 36" .I also got a sample of

Plexiglas' Hi def. material, and a very small sample of Vikuity film.I'll

do some comparisons tonight and let you know my thoughts.

O.K. here's what I found doing a simple test with the three materials side

by side. The Vikuity definitely has the best blacks, without compromising

the brightness. The high def acrylic had the most brightness with excellent

blacks and the cyro had excellent blacks but seemed a little bluish on the whites.

The problem with the vikuity is it's manufactured to a maximum of 48"

high(comes in a roll) so roughly a 96" screen is max in 16X9.Too small

for my purpose.Excellent product otherwise.(it'll look like a plasma even

when its off).

So for my purpose it's between the High def and the cyro acrylite.I'm

leaning towards the cyro product due to cost. The high def is about

6 to 7 times more expensive,at retail level.Still hunting down some

wholesale pricing.

After making a special crate for the screen because the first skid

allowed the screen to get damaged,I fanally received the screen.

It'll take me about a week to remove the old one and install the

new cyro material.(a little busy with work and travel)
