i was scanning through the menu settings of my 7200 and noticed a "high power" setting for the lamp.

is this just a "torch" setting for daytime viewing? has anyone here calibrated their 7200 for use with this setting over the normal setting?

thanks

on a semi-related note....if i keep it on "normal", i shoud expect 2500-3000 hours out of my lamp, right?

is replacing it something i can do myself or does it require service to do so?

thanks

I've used it occasionally on my 120" x 67.5" Firehawk, and it does produce a brighter image, but generally I use the 'normal' setting. As my bulb ages (and dims) I expect I'll use it regularly. And yes, you can change the bulb yourself.

mine's right around 1600 too....

when these bulbs start to dim, what exactly happens? is it a very slow, gradual dimming over a hundred hours, or is it a quicker deterioration than that?
