I was thinking of doing the same thing with mine.
Unfortunately, the DA9k doesn't have any HDMI inputs, so there is no LPCM or TrueHD etc bitstream capability, so the only way to take good audio is with DD+ over spdif, or analogue.
I find this very frustrating since I get such great results with SACD over i-Link. having said that, I'm not sure True HD over HDMI will so good as the jitter is reckoned to be so poor that it stops 16 bit audio reaching it potential, never mind 24 bit. Analogue may be the best bet.
I don't think all blu-ray players decode TrueHD etc, and not all HD players have output multi-channel analogue audio, but assuming you have a player that does that (and the goods ones should) then yes, you will get lossless analogue audio. Same as any AV amp with multi-channel in, really (just better audio quality!)
