I was wondering if any users could comment on their FPB's. I am interested in upgrading my current amps to FPB's for use in 2 channel stereo and as part of a HT system. Thank
I don't have the monoblocks, but am using the Krell FPB 200 to power my B&W N802 L/R speakers in our family theater room. The Krell amps are all awesome.
I have a pair of Krell FPB 250M driving Revel Studio. I am pretty happy with the sound. My dad has the FPB 200 and I think the monoblocks have slightly better imaging due lack of crosstalk between channels.
Like the Studio, Revel Salon is a fairly easy speaker to drive so I think the 250M will be more than adequate. The Salon dips down to about 3 Ohm and the 250M will put out about 600 to 700 watts at that impedance. According to a Stereophile review of the 250M, it actually puts out 370W into 8 and 1000 into 2. I would only consider the 350M if used with some electrostatic or large Wilson speakers.
