The RTI TheaterTouch T2 has gotten some very good reviews and is cheaper than the Pronto Pro (but not color). Just wondered if anyone here as had any experience with it. Especially for controlling a Denon 5803 receiver and a Kenwood DV-5900M dvd changer.

Thanks,

I use RTI T2 remote with RF interface

its software is great and easy to use

the T2 is not perfect, but I have tried several others including Pronto Pro, Crestron 1550C, MX-500- I keep coming back to the T2

Mark,

Thanks for your comments.

Dirk,

I've read the all the reviews at remote central. That's why I stated in my initial post that the RTI has gotten good reviews. I guess I should have made that more clear. Thanks anyway.

Ken,

I use the RTI T2 system with the RF interface. I have found that most important part is to place the RF unit and the antenae far away from your equipment. I have mine directly above my seating about 2 feet from my projector above my drop ceiling. It is 6-8 feet from the equipment. I can now control the system from 1 floor above my theater room. This doesn't work perfectly. But I use my remote to change channels on the direct TV sat receiver located in the room below to watch sat in my family room. This shows how good the remote can be. However, when it was installed I paid a lot of money to have my system installed and they put the receiver on the pack of the equipment rack. It didn't work very well. It is common for installers to not read the manuals. I am happy with the remote. I can learn everything well. But watch for repeats in the signal. See the remote forum. After you learn a command you may have to change the repeat to 1 or the remote will send the signal out too many times. So I can highly recommend the remote. I like the combination of buttons and LCD. I really like the RF and that is important. RF is difficult to get it to work but if you move the RF unit and antennae to the right position it can work well.

another way to improve RF performance is to get rid of the antenna cable that comes with the RF interface (as described in the Remote Central Forum)

I installed a BNC bulkhead connector on the blue case and ran a low loss coax cable for the antenna- this made a significant improvement in performance and the connector gives added convenience
