I'm tired of waiting for an HD TIVO and now there are DVD units with TIVO that look interesting.


I'm wondering how you hook up a TIVO unit to a Directv HD box like my Sony HD100. Would you only turn on the TIVO to record or is there a way to use the TIVO box all the time to control the SAT?


I realize that the HD100 will not output s-video and component at the same time so this seems to complicate things.

I believe there is a serial cable that comes with TIVO. Attached that between the serial port of the HD100 and the respective control port (I forgot what it looks like) on the back of the TIVO. The TIVO will then control the HD100.


That works perfect for me.
