Anything better than IO Data AVel LinkPlayer2?

917 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  h2ofun
I bought one of these nearly a year ago and while it somewhat does the job, I'm not satisfied with the polish on the product. It hangs up every now and then, requiring me to get off my lazy ass and physically turn it off and back on, fast forwarding through content is spotty at best, often times it just skips to the next file completely. The backgrounds on the interface do not have enough contrast compared with the text so it makes things hard to read, etc...

I'm getting ready to buy another device like this for my home theater since my DVD player just died (the LinkPlayer 2 is in the bedroom) So, has anything come out since then that is regarded as a better overall product?

Thanks for the help!

Which server are you running? I don't have these problems with wizd.
I am running the Advanced Server v2.2.99.

What is wizd?
I returned mine since it has lots of bugs. Based on the lack of f/w fixes, I will not buy another.

The new $430 Zensonic Z500 seems to be a better option than iodata....but it's also over $400.
