There seems to be very little out there in the 52 inch size for LCD TVs. Are there any recommendations by those who may own and love thiers?

Also anything that has relatively low input lag is a huge plus!!

if you need low input lag, your best bet is a Sharp. Sharp is one of the few remaining manufacturers that make 52" TVs. Here's a list of 52-inchers they currently produce.

LC-52D78UN (120Hz CCFL LCD, matte screen)

LC-52LE810UN (120Hz, Edge-Lit LED, ethernet, glossy screen)

LC-52LE820UN (120Hz, Edge-Lit LED, ethernet, front glass pane)

LC-52LE920UN (240Hz, Edge-Lit LED, wi-fi, front glass pane)

LC-52LE925UN (240Hz, Edge-Lit LED, 3D, wi-fi, front glass pane)

you can also find some LC-52LE700UN models floating around online. They're from 2009, are 120Hz and are LED-backlit without local dimming.

From other manufacturers:

LG 52LD550 (120Hz CCFL LCD, ethernet, matte screen)

Samsung LN-52C530 (60Hz CCFL LCD, matte screen)

2010 Sony:

KDL-XBR52HX909 (3D, 240Hz, LED-backlit with local dimming, almost discontinued)

KDL-XBR52LX900 (3D, 240Hz, Edge-Lit LED)

KDL-52NX800 (240Hz, Edge-Lit LED, wi-fi built in [discontinued])

52" is an odd size to be wanting,,, but if I was lookiing for a 52 incher it would be no contest at all,,,,, I would get the Mistubishi Unisen.

Not only do they have a very nice picture but the BIG bonus is the built in soundbar with a sub output.

If you have never heard the Unisen your in for a big suprise,, and if you do hear one in the store do keep in mind its guna sound about a million times better at home.

I would own one of these but the biggest they make is 55 inches,,, I currently have a 65" panel so going down is size is not an option for me.

Anyhow,, here is the link,,,
