Anyway to Remove Commercials for stored files on DVarchive?

385 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  AnthonyNYC
I am moving a lot of shows to my server via DVarchive. I would like to keep the shows viewable back at the replay 4504. I have used mpeg2vcr to remove the commercials to save file space, but the files don't seem to play back correctly. Is the only way to make this work is to use the software called myTv? Anyone have any experience working with that software? myTv is supposed to help recreate the index tags for the Replay, altough the FF, RW and Commercial Skip is unsupported.

It sorta of seems that the replay should be able to read its own files generated by itself, but perhaps cutting the commercials out, is messing up the index files too much...

Any thoughts?

I had never heard of myTV before. This is exactly what I have been waiting for!

This is amazing! I haven't yet tried it. I hope that this is the start of a whole new set of 4k tools. It would be great if we could attach MP3 audio to a blank video (or better yet a video of the song title which bounces around) to get the 4k's to act as MP3 servers. Anyway, I sent an email to this person, and I hope the project continues.

I installed MyTV today, it works pretty good. Hopefully others will catch on to this project and contribute. The creator has done a great job. And it seems to have gone un-noticed on the forums. As far as I can tell.. Searches do not bring up anything.
I don't understand where the audio file comes from. Isn't the audio encoded in the MPEG file directly?

Cheers
Great work, I haven't tried it yet, but this is what we need.

More work like this.

Thanks to the creator,
