Aquos 32D50U or 37D90U?

I have a sharp 37D7 u currently but a friend of mine is purchasing it from as I want to upgrade to a monitor with a faster response time since I use it mostly for gaming. The new 37" is 1080p and 32" is 720p. I use 360 the most and just worried that the upscaling to 1080p will degrade the image and not sure what route to take. I sit approx 5-8ft away from my TV so the 37" might even bee to big. Any suggestions on the route I should go?
