i'm thinking about getting the five channel amp. on audioreview.com one reviewer said he installed a 20amp circuit. is that really necessary or is the standard outlet adequate?

Mondial Designs (well now Klipsch) has it's own Web Forum and you can ask Aragon directly. Check out www.klipsch.com and click on FORUM up top.

In theory it would be necessary. Maximum output into a 4 ohm load is 5x400wpc which is 2000watts.

Couple this with a 2500va transformer and you could in fact use up all the resources of a 20amp circuit with this amplifier.

I have from time to time had both a Cinepro 3K6 series 3 and a BAT VK-6200 amplifier on the same 20 amp circuit, but only one of two were active at any one time.

I have yet to trip the 20amp breaker even when going at reference level, and I have a lot of stuff in the system ;)

With electrical, always plan for the worst case (maximum power draw) and you should be OK.

Regards,
