I've been told that the ARCAM AVR300 Surround sound receiver is a real good match for this type of system... your opinion is appreciated!

The only way to know it is to listen.


The only thing I can say is that I just love the arcam,

it was a religious experience hearing it (after several other brands).

But my taste might be different from yours,

(I generally like what the English magazines like, even before I read the review of a certain piece of equipment, so it has nothing to do with adaptive taste)

and I listen quite a bit of stereo-music.



EDIT:

I didn't read all the way trough the thread (it's huge) but ...

For 300$/pair speakers the price of this receiver might be over the top.

Try listening to this receiver and others in lower price-ranges with your speakers connected of course. It's the combination that has to work. If you feel the arcam does wonders for your speakers, go ahead. But the yamaha rx-v1500 and the pioneer elites are a top-performers too and might be a better choice for you.

Listen and decide for yourself whether the arcam is worth the premium.
